Support for teens and adults. "We're with you"
Telehealth Psychologist Brisbane & Australia | Board-Approved Supervisor | Next2You Psychology
Katie has 18 years' experience as a Psychologist in mental health working with adults and teens. She is warm, professional and compassionate.
Katie is located in Albany Creek in sunny South East Queensland and also offers telehealth appointments.
We want to help you to live your best life. From your first session, we are by your side, supporting you with your goals and striving to achieve meaningful change. We embrace and value diversity; you will feel respected and comfortable whilst opening up about your challenges, strengths and goals.
You will notice Katie's approach is to work with you, by your side. She doesn't pretend to be the expert of your life, you are.
Compassionate care, trust, inclusion, empowerment and positive client outcomes are important to us. We are here for you, we are "Next2You".
Clinical Supervision
Katie is a Board-Approved Supervisor, and able to provide supervision for Provisional Psychologists undertaking their 5+1 program, Students undertaking work in addition to placements, and Clinical Registrars (as a secondary supervisor).
As a Supervisor, Katie's values and approach are similar to what she does as a Therapist.
"I am down-to-earth, collaborative and genuinely value receiving feedback about my Supervision. Trust, inclusivity and empowerment are important to me. There is the extra responsibility in supervision of evaluation of Supervisee's practice and safeguarding the public. I aim to teach you to be effective at self-reflection, expanding your perspective and exploring therapeutic (content or process) techniques together. Competency in Psychology is lifelong, with ever changing landscapes and expanding/changing evidence; we must challenge ourselves to engage in continual improvement. Feedback is an opportunity; I provide feedback in a balanced and sensitive way with the aim of improvement of your practice and achieving excellent client outcomes."
Katie's preferred therapeutic modalities include: Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Trauma Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Brief/Solution-Focused approaches, and Motivational Interviewing.
